Avoid the busiest weeks if you can
- December is the peak for trips home from Canada, so fares are at their highest.
- The weeks around Eid are also very busy. Eid moves about 11 days earlier each year, so check this year's dates before choosing your travel window.
- Travelling a week or two before or after these peaks can make a big difference.
Book at the right time
- For peak dates, start watching prices several months ahead; the cheapest seats sell first.
- For quieter months, you have more flexibility, but good fares still don't last long.
- Use the month chart on the Toronto to Dhaka page to see which months are cheapest in real searches from the last 48 hours.
Choose your connection wisely
- Most trips connect once, commonly through the Middle East, Türkiye or Europe. The cheapest fares often have a longer layover, so decide how much time you're willing to trade for savings.
- Check that the whole trip is on one ticket, so a delay on the first flight doesn't leave you stranded.
Other ways to save
- Compare the total with bags. Allowances differ a lot between airlines, and gifts for family add up. The cheapest headline fare isn't always the cheapest trip.
- Be flexible by a few days. Moving your departure by two or three days often lowers the fare.
- Plan the airport trip home. Traffic from Dhaka's airport can be slow, so arrange your pickup ahead.
- Check entry rules early. Confirm current visa requirements for Canadians on official government websites before you book.
