4 days in Dubai: itinerary for first-timers (2026)

This plan keeps each day in one part of the city: Old Dubai, Downtown, the coast, then a flexible day. Friday matters in Dubai: Friday prayers are at 12:45 p.m., the Jumeirah Mosque visit is closed, and the Metro runs until 1:00 a.m. On Sundays the Metro opens late, at 8:00 a.m. The two seasonal sights open in October 2026.

Day 1: Old Dubai: Al Shindagha and the souks

Morning: Start at Al Shindagha Museum (opens 10:00 a.m.; AED 15) to see how Dubai began.
Afternoon: Cross the Creek by abra (AED 1–2) to Deira and walk the Gold and Spice Souks. Late afternoon is cooler.
Evening: Dinner in Deira or Karama at a halal restaurant, for example one of the Karachi Darbar branches.
Getting around: Walking, plus the abra. Metro Red and Green lines serve Deira.

Day 2: Downtown: Burj Khalifa and the fountain

Morning: Browse Dubai Mall and pray at the mall mosque if you wish.
Afternoon: Go up At the Top (10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., last entry 7:00 p.m.; book a timed ticket).
Evening: Watch the Dubai Fountain from the free promenade; shows run every 30 minutes from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Friday afternoon shows are at 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.).
Getting around: Metro Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, then the Metro Link Bridge.

Day 3: Jumeirah Mosque and Kite Beach

Morning: Join the Jumeirah Mosque cultural visit at 10:00 a.m. (not Fridays). Plan about 75 minutes and arrive 30 minutes early.
Afternoon: Go to Kite Beach for the free beach, the running track and the children's splash area.
Evening: Stay for sunset, then eat at a halal café or restaurant nearby.
Getting around: Taxi or ride-hailing between the mosque and Kite Beach; neither is on the Metro.

Day 4: Dubai Frame and a seasonal evening

Morning: Visit Dubai Frame from 8:00 a.m. (AED 50 adults, AED 20 children). It is by Zabeel Park, Gate 4.
Afternoon: Rest at your hotel or return to the beach.
Evening: After October 14, 2026, Global Village (Tuesdays are for ladies and families). Dubai Miracle Garden is open from October 8, 2026 (9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.). Check each date first.
Getting around: Metro to Al Jafiliya for the Frame; taxi or ride-hailing for Global Village and the Miracle Garden.
