Questions

Common questions

Do Canadians need a visa for France?

No. Canadians can visit the Schengen area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, counted across all Schengen countries. Since Oct. 12, 2025 you register in the EU Entry/Exit System at the border, with nothing to do before you leave. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months past your departure from the Schengen area.

Is the Paris Museum Pass worth it?

It costs €85 for 2 days, €105 for 4 or €125 for 6, and covers more than 50 museums and monuments. It pays off if you'll visit several paid sites in a short time, such as the Louvre (€32 for non-EEA visitors), Orsay and Versailles. Some sites still require a booked time slot even with the pass.

Do I need to book the Louvre in advance?

Booking a time slot is recommended for every visitor, including those with free admission or a pass. Non-EEA adults pay €32. The museum is closed Tuesdays and open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.
