Before you book in Paris

  • Paris raised its taxe de séjour in 2026. Per person per night: €2.60 (1-star), €3.25 (2-star), €5.53 (3-star), €8.45 (4-star), €11.70 (5-star), €15.93 (palace). Unrated rentals pay 16.25% of the nightly price, capped at €15.93. Under-18s are exempt.
  • RER B links Charles de Gaulle airport to Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame and Luxembourg in 35 to 50 minutes. The airport ticket costs €14. Roissybus ended on March 1, 2026.
  • Pickpocketing and phone snatching are common in Paris, especially on public transit.

No, for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period. You will be registered in the EU's Entry/Exit System (face photo and fingerprints) on arrival.

How much is the Paris tourist tax?

It depends on the hotel's star rating: from €2.60 per person per night at 1-star to €11.70 at 5-star in 2026. Children under 18 do not pay.

Can visitors go inside the Grande Mosquée de Paris?

Yes. Tours run daily except Fridays and Muslim holidays, 9 am to 6 pm, for €5. The prayer hall is not part of the tour.
