Halal food is easy to find in central Ho Chi Minh City if you know where to look. Dong Du Street, by the Saigon Central Mosque in the old District 1, has several halal restaurants, and the city's Cham Muslim community has its own cooking. Vietnam has an official halal certifier, but many restaurants run without certificates, so check. The city's districts became wards in July 2025, but hotels and maps still use the old district names.
Halal status can change when a restaurant changes owner or supplier, so check the certificate at the door. We say where a place is certified and where it is only Muslim-owned or self-declared.
